The challenge

ATTOM aggregates and licenses property data — and the price of a deal depends on many moving parts: which datasets, which geographies, delivery method, license terms, and volume. Those variables combine into hundreds of possible product configurations, and pricing them was a manual exercise run in spreadsheets. The process was slow, hard to keep consistent, and didn't scale as the catalog and the customer base grew.

Why it's hard

Attribute-based pricing is one of the more demanding things to model in a quoting system. The price isn't attached to a fixed SKU — it's derived from the combination of attributes a customer selects. Build that as static products and the catalog explodes; build it by hand in spreadsheets and it drifts out of sync the moment pricing changes. ATTOM needed pricing logic that could resolve any valid combination consistently, at the point of quoting, without a person assembling it.
